Slánú_Creatures

“Slánu” was a university project carried out in partnership with students of the Master's Degree in Digital Game Development at the Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave, which aimed to create a 2D platform digital video game.
The dynamics of the game is based on a world on the verge of an environmental catastrophe, where the player needs to overcome the challenges that arise, in order to save the planet.
From an aesthetic point of view, the art of the game is 2D, vector, created in the Adobe Illustrator program, having as aesthetic influences the platform games: Limbo, Night in the Woods and Star Knight. The art also features Celtic elements and influences mixed with modern elements, highlighting the environmental impact that humans are having on nature.

The elements of nature influenced the selection of colors in earth tones and the design of the monsters with the shapes of mushrooms, branches, seeds, stones, among others.
